Track Tec acquires the Production of Turnouts and Tension Clamps in Coswig

According to an agreement signed on 3 December 2014 Track Tec GmbH in Düsseldorf has acquired the turnouts and tension clamps business in Coswig from ThyssenKrupp GfT Gleistechnik with effect as of 1 January 2015. The acquisition comprises all assets belonging to the Coswig plant. All employees are going to be taken over by Track Tec. The parties have agreed to keep the purchase price confidential.

For Track Tec, the integration of the plant in Coswig into its production and distribution of structure materials for all kinds of railways represents an important step to complete the existing production facilities and will be a complement of strategic importance of its own product range. – "With the personnel and technical opportunities Coswig offers, we will be able to meet the demands of our international turnout costumers in an even more extensive, precise and faster way"explains Jaroslaw Pawluk, CEO of Track Tec“This includes in particular required factory acceptance tests and the transport to the railway construction sites.”

According to Pawluk, the possibility to produce tension clamps in-house will help to increase Track Tec’s competitiveness in the entire sleepers’ area and will potentially be an important step for the production of complex rail fastenings for the major railway markets.

Track Tec, with its know-how and its ultra-modern and highly efficient production facilities, aims at integrating the Coswig plant quickly into Track Tec Group and to develop it sustainably. The plant is the seventh production site of Track Tec Group, together with five Polish plants for manufacturing of turnouts, concrete sleepers and wooden sleepers as well as the already existing turnout assembly in Leuna, Germany.
