Track Tec supports NOVKOL’22

Representatives of Track Tec Group, a leading European supplier of track superstructure materials, attended the 21st Conference on Modern Technology and Management Systems in Rail Transport (NOVKOL’22). Track Tec Group was the Diamond Partner of the Conference. Jacek Paś, Technology and Development Director at Track Tec Koltram, represented the company as one of the honorary patrons.

During the conference, modern technologies in the design, construction, maintenance, diagnostics and operation of rail infrastructure and rolling stock for transporting passengers and materials were discussed. One of the main issues were rail investments in the new economic reality in Poland and the European Union, including investments related to the energy transition to combat climate change and reduce dependence on fossil fuels (e.g. through electrification of railway lines).

“Meeting together to think and talk about the future of rail infrastructure in Poland and around the world, we can gain a new, broader perspective of the issues. This is how market innovations that improve the quality of Polish railways are born,” says Krzysztof Niemiec, Vice-President of Track Tec S.A.

The experts also discussed the adaptation of the linear and point rail infrastructure in Poland to the transport needs arising from the European integration of Ukraine and the prospect of its future reconstruction. Opportunities related to 21st century railways were also deliberated, including opportunities for external funding for R&D and innovation.

NOVKOL is one of the largest transport industry conferences in Poland. Every year it is attended by representatives of PKP (Polish State Railways) Group companies, universities, as well as design, production and contractor companies dealing with the implementation of modern technologies in railways. The event was organised by the Krakow Branch of the Association of Engineers and Technicians of Transportation of the Republic of Poland, with the participation of the Krakow University of Technology – Department of Roads, Railways and Traffic Engineering, the Polish rail infrastructure operator PKP PLK and the Małopolska Regional Chamber of Civil Engineers in Krakow.
