Track Tec changes the history of Polish railways

The Track Tec Group has held a technical acceptance of the Poland’s first prototype railway turnout with a radius of 2,500 m that has been delivered to the Polish railway infrastructure administrator PKP PLK for an upgrade of the Warsaw–Skierniewice line. The turnout structure is designed to carry trains passing over at the speed of up to 200 kmph.

The R2500m prototype turnout, wholly executed at the Track Tec plant, will be installed at Grodzisk Mazowiecki station and is the first turnout in Poland to have such a large radius. The resulting total length of the turnout is 94.3 m. This structure will enable to enhance the traveling speed capabilities on this section to 160 kmph on the straight track and to 130 kmph on the diverging track. The turnout switch is made of high-resilience steel point sections and rails. It is designed to be fitted with a multi-drive point machine with the use of modern point mechanisms. Application of the R2500 turnout on the above-named section will ensure reduced travel times, enhanced traffic capacity and passenger safety.

“For many years now, Track Tec Group has been focused on growing powerful technological capabilities, not only meeting the market demands but also exceeding the trends. Consistent improvement of our range makes us ever better positioned to provide our customers with effective and comprehensive service. The steadily growing number of customers from abroad and appreciation of our products at home best demonstrate the quality and innovation of the Group,” sums up Jarosław Pawluk, President of the Management Board, Track Tec S.A.

The Track Tec Group is continuously driving technological advancement of the Polish railways. The Company’s portfolio includes numerous already tested solutions that help optimize the costs and increase the traveling speed on tracks across Poland. To date, Track Tec has delivered to the PKP PLK network prototype turnouts with a radius of 190 m to 1,200 m to be installed on prestressed concrete turnout sleepers. In 2013 Q1, the Company won the public contract for deliveries of sleepers and turnout sleepers to PKP PLK and signed a contract worth PLN 3.5 million for deliveries of CBP level crossing plates.

Innovations by Track Tec have been consistently recognized on the market. In 2013, Track Tec Group was honored with many prestigious awards. An award for a design facilitating turnout operation was taken in the Engineer Ernest Malinowski Competition during the TRAKO International Railway Fair. The Company’s achievements in the railway transport industry were also acknowledged with the “Symbol 2013” award.
