Polish turnouts find their way to Canadian Metro

The Track Tec Group will supply turnouts for the light rapid transit metro system extension project in Vancouver (Canada). The first lot of key infrastructure components manufactured by Track Tec KolTram will enter that market in January 2014.

The contract for delivery of turnouts for Vancouver Metro signed by the Company marks a milestone in its international growth. Considering the schedule of the construction works on the Evergreen Line, the project will launch in January 2014. A total of 9 deliveries will have been made by container by September 2015. Supplies to Canada will include crossovers and complete turnout systems with movable or fixed frog points designed both for ballast and non-ballast surfaces.

“Delivery of supplies to North America is a significant step in the development of our international operations, in particular for our turnout business. The latest contract proves that quality components of transport infrastructure manufactured in Poland can find applications worldwide. Our project shows the growth potential for the Group and allows Track Tec-branded products to make their way wherever new railway lines are built or urban transportation systems are established in rapidly-growing metropolitan areas,” said Jarosław Pawluk, President of the Management Board of the Track Tec Group.

Before signing the contract, representatives of the Canadian partner visited the manufacturing plant of Track Tec KolTram in Zawadzkie and were shown the Group product standard in Psary, one of the busiest sections of the PKP PLK railway network linking Warsaw and the Silesia region.
