Track Tec, a pioneer on the Romanian market

Track Tec S.A. is the first Polish company to supply pre-stressed concrete sleepers to the Romanian market. Pursuant to the decision of the Romanian railway authority (AFER), the Group’s products can be installed in the Romanian public railway networks, in the standard gauge track sections and in the wide gauge track sections at the border with Ukraine and the Republic of Moldova.

The first sleepers manufactured in the Track Tec’s Suwałki plant for export to Romania were installed on the Craiova – Bucharest railway line. The order concerns the PS-93 type sleepers, a W 14 mount, for the standard gauge track. The installation works are carried out on behalf of, and managed by, Track Tec. The construction works are supervised by the construction division of the Romanian Rail (CFR).

“We are the first Polish company from the railway industry which succeeded in marketing its products in Romania. This is a huge success as any company that expands its business beyond the domestic market must face not only the high quality but also the stringent legal and formal requirements”, said Jarosław Pawluk, President of the Management Board of Track Tec S.A.

The supply and installation of Track Tec’s sleepers is an outcome of the official marketing permit granted by the Romanian rail authority (AFER). According to this decision, Track Tec’s sleepers can be installed in Romania’s public railway networks, both in the standard gauge tracks (1435 mm) and in the wide-gauge tracks (1520 mm) on the border with Ukraine and the Republic of Moldova.

Apart from the Romanian railway the Track Tec Group delivers its products also to other construction companies and international consortia involved in construction and repair works for the Pan-European Transport Corridor IV which runs from Germany, through Romania, to Istanbul and to the Black Sea port of Constanta.
