Track Tec on the train to Romania

The Track Tec Group plans to expand its operations to Romania. The manufacturing plant in Suwałki is ready to be audited. The positive result of the audit will mean that the Polish company will be able to market its track superstructure elements in Romania.

In line with the Track Tec Group’s development plan, its products are being adapted to the standards binding in subsequent European countries. The aim of the audit by the Romanian authority in charge of railroad transport (AFER) will be to allow the sleepers manufactured in the Group’s manufacturing plant in Suwałki to be used by the Romanian railway.

Since Romania’s accession to the European Union the Romanian railroad infrastructure has been transformed into a modern, high quality transport network. Any railway company which wants to market its products or services on the Romanian market must meet specific criteria, such as be compliant with the European standards EN 13 230-1 and EN 13 230-2, internal regulations of the Romanian railroad authorities (AFER) and the Romanian railway (CFR).

“Our expansion to the Romanian market is an obvious consequence of the strategy adopted by the Group, so we count on AFER’s positive decision. Out ambition stays strong. We want to gain new experience of operating in many European countries”, said Jarosław Pawluk, President of the Management Board of Track Tec S.A.

Romania is another spot on the Track Tec Group’s map of European business partners. In June 2011 Track Tec signed a contract for the supply of pre-stressed concrete sleepers to the Latvian Rail.
