Track Tec as an expert at 14th European Economic Congress
Track Tec Group again participated in the European Economic Congress, which this year was held from 25-27 April 2022 at the International Congress Centre in Katowice. The event has been an important part of the public debate on the Polish and European economy for over a decade. Track Tec Vice-President Krzysztof Niemiec took part in discussions on transport infrastructure in Poland and infrastructure construction as an expert.
Following a two-year hiatus due to the pandemic, this year’s European Economic Congress was again held in the traditional formula with in-person attendance of participants and direct interaction between the speakers. The agenda of the event and the value of the Congress as a prestigious industry event are determined primarily by its guests, who agree to share their knowledge and expertise with attendants.
The 14th European Economic Congress was devoted to the general economic changes related to the adoption of sustainable business models by many companies. The Congress also addressed the consequences of pandemic-related disruptions in global supply chains and of the dynamic development of digital technologies as well as issues of energy sector transformation.
One of the panellists in discussions about transport infrastructure and infrastructure construction was Vice President of Track Tec Krzysztof Niemiec. The first session focused on the sustainable transport development strategy and the implementation of the European Green Deal. During the panel on infrastructure construction, the situation on the road investment market – its opportunities and challenges in the face of economic change – was debated. The experts analysed the prospects for the execution of government programmes: Bridges for Regions, the Rail+ Programme and the Construction Programme for 100 Ring Roads.
“A well-developed transport infrastructure enhances the country’s investment attractiveness and the competitiveness of its economy. That’s why it is important to regularly review the state of Polish infrastructure and to look for opportunities and possibilities for its development. Knowing the Polish market, as well as its resources, needs, challenges and performance potential, we can discuss the most cost-effective and desirable solutions, which will contribute to the development of the Polish railways,” says Krzysztof Niemiec, Vice President of the Management Board of Track Tec S.A.
The European Economic Congress (EEC) is a three-day series of debates and meetings with the participation of guests from Poland and other European countries, which is considered the most important economic event in Central Europe. The Congress’s sessions and discussions are attended by several hundred panellists each year, including EU commissioners, Polish and European politicians, and, most importantly, hundreds of investors and businesspeople. During the Congress, the issues crucial to the economic and social development of Europe are debated.
