Track Tec: Railway needs changes

Following the EURO-TRANS International Conference and the TRAKO International Railway Fair, in November we will see the first edition of the “Railway Congress”. The Track Tec Group has become the Congress’s strategic partner. The need for organising events where the future of the railway market can be discussed is indisputable. Higher effectiveness and competitiveness of this industry is the prerequisite for the country’s social and economic development.

The EU strategy for the transport market development for 2030–2050 provides that the railway should take over a large part of freight transport. However in terms of the railway infrastructure current condition the plausibility of these assumptions has raised serious concerns. It should be noted that if such objectives are to be accomplished, the railway authorities will not only have to be aware of the need for changes and extensive investments but, first of all, will require the ability to take up the initiatives most effective in terms of the dynamic market’s needs. The Track Tec Group that develops innovative solutions for railway infrastructure and provides expert and financial support to technical ideas is very well aware of these issues.

“For many years now the railway industry has been facing the consequences of long-term negligence and lack of any investments. That is why to remedy this situation we need to ensure that the financial resources are utilised in the most effective manner. ‘Effective’ meaning ensuring the high quality of materials, products and services, so that in the long term the railway infrastructure can be exploited in the way best responding to the market requirements. Establishing price as the main criterion in public tenders is hardly the best way to achieve this objective. The Track Tec Group plants manufacture and offer products of the highest quality. We have actively and consistently provided expert and financial support for actions that may stimulate the growth of the competitive advantages of the rail transport”, said Jarosław Pawluk, President of the Management Board of Track Tec S.A.

The Track Tec Group’s state-of-the-art solutions for the railway industry recently presented at the 9th International Railway Fair TRAKO 2011 include the technology for reforging tongue profiles which are the key element of any turnout. The Group’s success in developing global innovative solutions that comply with the ISO 9001 system and strict acceptance requirements of the European standards has been an outcome of the collaboration with the AGH University of Science and Technology in Kraków.

An invitation for the Group’s representatives to take part in a panel discussion during the 10th EURO-TRANS International Conference has been an acknowledgement of Track Tec’s involvement in the development of the railway industry. For many years this Conference has been a valuable forum where the scientists and the people with hands-on experience of the industry could share their experiences and opinions. This year’s discussion was dedicated to sustainable transport, challenges facing transport in the times of crisis and the need for its higher effectiveness and competitiveness in the long-term perspective.
