Track Tec drives railway innovations
The Track Tec Group, as the first national manufacturer of components for railway track superstructure, has designed a prototype turnout, the biggest so far in Poland. The structure with a radius of 2,500 m will be installed in the PKP PLK network.
Due to undisputed quality proven by extensive advanced research and numerous tests, and confirmed with relevant certificates and permissions, the Track Tec company has by now introduced into the PKP PLK network all the prototype turnouts installed on concrete turnout sleepers, starting with those with the radius of 190 m to those with the radius of 1,200 m. Documentation for the current trailblazing project has been already accepted by the authorized units of PKP PLK S.A. and of the Railway Institute. It needs to be stressed that the structure of the so-far largest turnout manufactured in the country has been entirely designed at the Track Tec design office.
“For many years we have been successfully preparing our products for construction of state-of-the-art railway infrastructure in Poland. The design solutions currently used by Track Tec enable us to offer our products for the whole PKP PLK network. That covers also the high speed lines planned to be modernized, in particular the Central Rail Line. Thanks to our capability to meet even the most stringent requirements, we have been consistently developing our activities also on international markets,” summed up Jarosław Pawluk, President of the Management Board of the Track Tec S.A. Group.
An outcome of the flourishing development of the Track Tec Group is systematic technological advancement of the Polish railway network, which results in higher safety level and lower operating costs on the side of the infrastructure administrator. The so-far largest turnout is not the first solution offered by the Company that is ahead of the trends and of the competition. Thanks to consistent investments in state-of-the-art technologies, Track Tec has for long now had at its disposal ready and tested solutions of key importance for increasing the traveling speed on the Polish tracks, also above 250 kmph. The range of products offered by the Company includes very durable and cost-effective turnouts with bainite frogs, certified by the Office of Rail Transportation. In addition, as the only Polish company, Track Tec uses structures with movable frog point. Track Tec experts prepared the first design of a turnout utilizing that solution and adapted to the speed of 250 kmph already 10 years ago. It received a certificate from the Office of Rail Transportation and has been used on the Central Rail Line for many years now. The Group offers its customers also turnouts with manganese frogs adapted to the speed of 200 kmph, which are commonly used all over the world. Thanks to its involvement in multiple R&D projects, Track Tec has not only been consistently strengthening its position on the domestic market, but it also enters international markets, including Germany, Switzerland, Romania, Slovakia, the Netherlands, and also the USA, Canada and China.
