Silesian contract goes to Track Tec
The Track Tec Group has commenced deliveries of tram sleepers for the track upgrade projects rolled out in Bytom and Ruda Śląska. The investment project is aimed to ensure passenger comfort and safety for users of the tramway system in those towns.
The order placed with Track Tec is a part of an investment project carried out by SKANSKA at the commission of Tramwaje Śląskie, the operator of the Silesian tram lines. Approx. 46 kilometres of tram tracks in the Silesia and Zagłębie urban area will have been upgraded by the end of 2014. The total value of the whole project will reach PLN 23 million.
“Commitment to safety and comfort of the railway infrastructure users is one of the priorities of Track Tec. We are happy to be part of such important investment projects,” said Jarosław Pawluk, President of the Management Board of the Track Tec S.A. Group.
With the best-in-class production and standards of cooperation, Track Tec will provide for the project not only prestressed concrete sleepers, but also wooden sleepers from the Group-owned treating plants in Lipa and Pludry. Advance technologies applied in the manufacturing process will contribute to more effective vibration and noise reduction thus to increased comfort of travel.
