Lean Manufacturing bolsters up the Track Tec Group
In response to market trends in manufacturing management, the KolTram company, a member of the Track Tec Group, a leader in innovative solutions for railroad infrastructure, has undertaken a complex program developed in line with the Lean Manufacturing concept. The optimisation of operations and costs will ultimately bring benefits to the company’s business partners.
KolTram (in the process of changing its business name to TRACK TEC KOLTRAM Sp. z o.o.) is implementing a project to modify its manufacturing management processes with the state-of-the-art tools that will bolster up the company’s competitive advantages. A systemic approach to changes compatible with the Lean Manufacturing concept proves that the company has been persistent in pursuing a Track Tec Group’s business strategy aimed at developing new quality standards for its products and services.
The key assumption of the implemented consulting-and-implementation program is, first of all, to increase the company’s business efficiency so that it can exercise more flexibility in the company management. Such changes will lead to an increase in satisfaction of customers who expect solutions dedicated to their needs. In addition, the elimination of broadly defined losses during production will facilitate the reduction of costs which have substantial effect on the final value of any offer presented to a customer.
In accordance with the Lean Manufacturing concept, the Company will ultimately reduce operating reserve, at the same time boosting its human resources and technical reserves productivity, and will substantially increase its inventory turnover. The implementation process has been scheduled to be completed at the turn of 2011 and 2012.
