Track Tec becomes Partner of 13th European Economic Congress
Track Tec Group attended the annual European Economic Congress. The event has been an important part of the public debate on the Polish and European economy for over a decade. Track Tec Vice-President Krzysztof Niemiec took part in discussions on transport infrastructure in Poland and infrastructure construction as an expert.
The 13th European Economic Congress took place on 20-22 September 2021 at the International Congress Centre in Katowice. What is special about this event is the fact that the scope of topics is not strictly defined, but emerges in the course of the debates and discussions between experts and congress participants. This year, the main thematic strands concerned the Recovery Plan for Europe, international trade and economic relations after the pandemic and the consumer in times of the ‘new normal’.
On the first day of the congress, Track Tec Vice-President Krzysztof Niemiec participated in a panel on “Transport strategy for Poland”, where he debated the development of transport in Poland with other panellists. During the session, experts emphasised the disproportion between the development of road and rail transport, agreeing that the Polish rail market is currently not receiving sufficient support.
“Although we keep implementing new rail construction programmes and our sector continues to develop, the figures and statistics still show a big gap between road and rail transport. If we want to achieve sustainable transport in Poland, such disproportions should disappear,” says Krzysztof Niemiec, Vice President of the Management Board of Track Tec S.A.
The European Economic Congress is the largest business event in Central and Eastern Europe, gathering over 1,000 speakers and more than 15,000 participants each year, who take part in 150 thematic sessions. This year, the Congress took the form of a campaign lasting several months, which covered not only a wide range of economic topics, but also – and more importantly – very diverse forms of activity. It was inaugurated in February with the EEC Trends Online, consisting of the publication of talks and debates on trends shaping our immediate future. This was followed by the EEC Online in May, while the 13th European Economic Congress was the finale concluding the entire campaign.
