Track Tec to partner with Latvian Railways
The Track Tec S.A. Group will deliver 172,000 prestressed concrete sleepers for the Latvian Railways (LDz) after winning the public contract. The contact worth over EUR 9 million covers an overhaul of 90 kilometres of tracks in Latvia. The deliveries are to be made in the years 2014−2015.
Quality sleepers to be provided in the coming two years to Latvia have been designed by Track Tec engineers specifically to the needs of LDz. As part of the commission, selected sections of Latvian railway lines with the total length of 90 kilometres will be overhauled.
“Since the inception of our business, our primary objective has been to make products that could be used to improve the robustness and safety of the railway infrastructure. We are therefore pleased that our many years of experience, which make us leaders of innovative and reliable solutions, will now serve the Latvian Railways too,” summed up Jarosław Pawluk, President of the Management Board of the Track Tec Group.
The dynamically growing international business of the Group gains momentum not only with new orders but also through organic growth. In 2013, the Company set up a plant in the technology park in Leuna (Saxony-Anhalt, Germany) to manufacture and assembly new and regenerated turnouts, turnout components and specialist track superstructure devices, whereas in 2014, the construction of a prestressed concrete sleeper and turnout sleeper manufacturing plant is scheduled for initiation, again in Germany.
