Track Tec Group takes over KolTram
Track Tec S.A. acquired a 100% share in KolTram Sp. z o.o. for PLN 100 million.
KolTram Sp. z o.o. is the leading manufacturer of railroad turnouts in Poland, selling its products to Germany, France and other European countries. The last year’s sales topped PLN 65 million. KolTram is the oldest Polish manufacturer of railroad turnouts. Manufacturing of these materials in Poland has a 130-year tradition.
In over 50 years of its history, the company manufactured and supplied a total of over 24 million railroad sleepers and turnout sleepers. Two pre-stressed concrete sleeper manufacturers – the Kolbet company of Suwałki and the WPS Goczałków company, were merged under one brand, Track Tec, in 2010. At present the company employs over 500 people, including KolTram’s employees.
Track Tec S.A., the company that acquired a 100% share in KolTram, specialises in the manufacture of pre-stressed concrete sleepers. The company is controlled by Jarosław Pawluk.
Jarosław Pawluk studied chemistry. In 1992 he founded the CTL company (then Chem Trans Logistics) which became the biggest private rail freight carrier in Poland. Among the most important of his transactions was the sale of a 75% share in CTL Logistics to Bridgepoint, a UK private equity fund, in 2008.
