The Track Tec Group was a Partner of the 4th Congress of Designers and Engineers, which took place on April 16 at the Copernicus Science Centre in Warsaw. The event, organized in part by the TOR Economic Advisors Team, brings together representatives from the construction industry, administration, as well as scientific institutions and universities. The main focus of the congress is infrastructure investments and the role of designers and engineers in their implementation.
Marita Szustak, President of the Management Board of Track Tec Construction and President of the Land Transport Chamber of Commerce (IGTL), participated in the congress and took part in a debate “3-on-3 Conversation: Designers and General Contractors – Partners or Rivals?”.
Drawing on Track Tec Construction’s many years of experience as a general contractor for large infrastructure projects, Marita Szustak discussed, among other things, how to improve collaboration between designers and general contractors, and how to draft contract clauses to ensure continuity of cooperation and fair financial conditions for both parties.
The discussion also addressed important issues such as the most common sources of conflicts between general contractors and designers, and how to allocate risks between contractors and designers to avoid shifting responsibility and interpretational disputes. Debate participants also touched on simplifying public procurement procedures and discussed how this could improve the efficiency of project implementation.
