The Track Tec Group, a leading international supplier of track superstructure materials, was the General Partner of the High-Speed Rail Congress, which took place on 17 March in Lodz. The first edition of the Congress was combined with the 12th European Rolling Stock Forum, a leading European event dedicated to modern rolling stock solutions.
The first High Speed Rail Congress at the Ambasador Premium Hotel in Lodz was held under the slogan “Harnessing Poland’s Potential”. The theme of the event, organized by the TOR Economic Advisory Team, the Land Transport Chamber of Commerce and the ‘rynek-kolejowy.pl’ portal, was the prospects for the development of high-speed rail in Poland in terms of rolling stock and infrastructure, as well as from the point of view of financing, regulation and state policy.
Among the leading experts and representatives of the railway sector were representatives of the Track Tec Group. Krzysztof Niemiec, Vice-President of the Management Board of Track Tec and Vice-President of the Railway Business Forum, first appeared on stage in a speech “Green goals in transport – challenges for the railways”, during which he discussed, among other things, the environmental context, before taking part in the final panel of the day, “The potential of the Polish manufacturing industry and new infrastructure challenges”.
Marita Szustak, President of the Land Transport Chamber of Commerce and President of Track Tec Construction, spoke at the opening debate of the event “A coherent European high-speed network – a pipe dream or a realistic vision?”, alongside Maciej Kliś, Vice-President of Bank Gospodarstwa Krajowego (BGK), Piotr Malepszak, Undersecretary of State at the Polish Ministry of Infrastructure, representatives of ministries and companies from Latvia and Lithuania, Mayor of Lodz Hanna Zdanowska and other key representatives of the railway industry and local governments.
The High-Speed Rail Congress and European Rolling Stock Forum bring together a prestigious international group of representatives of national railways and decision-makers from the most important European railway organisations. The events are also attended by representatives of the scientific community, suppliers, carriers and regional governments. It is an excellent starting point for discussions leading to real changes: the construction and development of modern high-speed railways and the further strengthening of the broadly understood rolling stock market in the Polish and European perspective.
